Hospice is a special way of caring for people who have a disease for which there is no cure, and for their families. This care includes physical care and counseling. Mountain Regional Hospice/Palliative Care Organization is a local state licensed Medicare Certified agency that offers care to all age groups, including children, adults, and the elderly during their final stages of life. The goal of Hospice is to care for the patient and the family and not to cure the illness.
The patient qualifies for Hospice/Palliative Care when the patient’s physician and the Mountain Regional medical director certify that the patient has an incurable disease and the patient chooses to receive Hospice/Palliative Care.
